Valentines Party! |
| February 2nd, 2012 |

Our Valentines Day party will be Tuesday, February 14th. Please bring in valentines for your classmates and a favorite valentine treat to share. We know that there are lots of sweet valentine treats to be had this season, but we’d also love to see everyone sharing fruit, veggies, and cheeses! Nothing says ‘I love you!’ quite like good, healthy food to eat!

Announcements! |
| October 17th, 2011 |
Some important announcements for the end of October:
Cross Road’s Harvest Fest!
When: Monday, October 31, 4:00 PM
Where: Cross Road playground
(if it’s raining, we’ll do it inside)
The children will parade around the playground to show off their costumes to the other children and parents. We will also have a few games for the kids to play plus some light refreshments. We hope you can all make it!
Fall Clothes
Many children still have T-shirts and shorts here at school. We ask that you please bring long sleeve shirts, pants and sweatshirts to replace these items, so that your child will have extra clothes at school in case of an accident, spill, etc.
School Pictures
We realize that the Picture ID given to us by Lifetouch is not working and have been informed by Lifetouch that the code has expired. However, we will be receiving the proofs via mail sometime this week, so you will have them to review as soon as they arrive. Our apologies for the inconvenience!!
Parent Resource Center
We are happy to announce that we’ve added a Parent Resource Center to our school! In the main entrance, you will find an area with books, pamphlets and other resources for parents to browse through or sign out to take home. We will do our best to update the center often with new materials and only ask that, if you borrow an item, to please return it to us within 3 weeks so that other parents can utilize it too.
As always, please continue to check our blog and the Announcement board at school for more important Cross Road updates!

Community Helpers Week |
| October 7th, 2011 |
This week, our preschool class did a unit on Community Helpers. We learned all about the different types of workers in our community and the important jobs they do. We read books about policemen, doctors and chefs and made their own occupation collages, doctor’s bags and police badges.
On Tuesday, Paige’s mom, Jen, came to talk to our preschoolers about her job as a pharmacist. We learned the importance of medicine and that we should never take any unless an adult gives it to us.
Charlie’s mom, Jody, talked to our class on Wednesday about her job at Milwaukee Tools. She showed us how to use a drill to put screws in a piece of wood and let us play with a cool flashlight.
Thank you Jody and Jen!

Parent Teacher Conferences Are Coming Up! |
| August 31st, 2011 |
We will be holding parent/teacher conferences throughout the month of September. Parents will have the choice of a meeting via phone or in person. Conferences will be conducted during naptime (1 PM- 3 PM). You will be receiving a conference form to help your child’s teacher prepare for your meeting. On this form, please leave a tentative date/time you’d like to have your meeting, so your child’s teacher can plan accordingly. We look forward to meeting with all of our parents and working together to plan a successful preschool year for your child!

| August 30th, 2011 |
Thank you all for joining us last Friday at our End of Summer Luau! It was great to see so many parents here to celebrate and we know your children loved to see their moms and dads at school!
Thank you also to all the parents who brought food and drinks for the party–we really appreciate your contribution
For the parents who couldn’t be with us, here are some pictures of the party:

- Getting ready to sing some songs!

- Ms. Debbie’s class singing “I Can Count”

- Mr. Joel’s class singing “Obedience Is”

- Ms. Bethany’s class singing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame”

- Enjoying some treats
 Yum!
Thank you again for making our End of Summer Luau such a success. We hope you had fun!
If you didn’t get to attend, but have a child in the K1-K4 program, your child’s teacher has a portfolio of their work to give you. Just ask when you see them

Pirate Week! |
| August 19th, 2011 |
Pirate Week was the overwhelming favorite for summer theme weeks here at Cross Road! The kids had a blast making and wearing eye patches, hooks and bandanas, constructing their own pirate ships, searching for hidden treasure and eating Pirate’s Booty for snack!
Check out your little pirates in action…

From Outer Space to Pirates! |
| August 12th, 2011 |
Hi everyone!
This week, we celebrated Outer Space week at Cross Road!
Mr. Joel’s class made their own planets, which they hung as nametags on their cubbies. Check them out in the hallway! They also spruced up their new classroom this week with hanging planet mobiles, “S” is for Star projects and toilet paper roll rocket ships.
Ms. Bethany’s class read a book called “Stars!” and made twinkle stars out of glitter. You can see them hanging on the bulletin board!

They also pretended to be astronauts…

…it was so much fun!
Today, they read a story about the moon and painted their very own.
Ms. Debbie and Ms. Bethany’s class class made aliens….

And made their own stars & planets

They also made their very own telescopes!

Next week is Pirate Week!
